What you need to know about us
 

Tickseed is a family run company (established in 2003) with a commitment to providing good quality products, personal attention and good service. Our principal mode of operation is via the Internet, but we are happy to deal with telephone enquiries and orders and although we are not always able to answer the telephone, we will respond as soon as we can to any messages left on our answering machine. We hope you will enjoy browsing through our website and that you will find something of interest. If you are looking for ideas for party bags or stocking fillers then we have one of the most varied ranges available to buy online in the UK.   We are a limited company, based in Northamptonshire and registered in the UK at Companies House, registration number 4815716.

Environmental and Ethical Issues

Most people are acutely aware of issues surrounding both the environment and ethics in business. A number of our suppliers donate a percentage of their profit to charitable causes, some have a direct link with their own charities. Most of them try to ensure that wooden toys are made from renewable sources, that child labour is not used in their production and that working conditions are safe and hygienic.
As a company we are aware that ethics are not soley about fair trade and always try to treat customers and suppliers with courtesy and respect. This policy extends to our prices, which we aim to keep competitive. We support charities within our local community and nationally, and recycle/re-use packaging wherever we can. If your parcel has green bubble wrap this is bio-degradable. Naturally, there is room for improvement but this continues as "work in progress". We welcome any suggestions.

Your Comments, Suggestions and Enquiries

We want customers to be happy with our service and products and if we are not meeting your expectations, we would like to hear from you. Perhaps you might like to suggest a way in which we can improve our web site. Alternatively, you may have an idea for other products which we might stock. If you have a concern about the way you have been treated or a complaint about a product please let us know.

How do I return something?

If an item is damaged or does not work, please contact us by telephone first, to arrange a replacement or refund. If you wish to return something because it is not as expected, or to exchange it for something else, then complete the returns form included with the invoice and return it unused and in its original packaging. We will gladly refund the full purchase price. In either case you need to contact us within 10 days of receipt of your parcel (via email, davidg@tickseed.co.uk or in writing). When returning goods, please obtain a proof of posting certificate from the post office. We cannot however credit return postage.

Deliveries

How?
We use Post Office delivery for smaller items and couriers for all other items. Parcels may require signature on delivery. Whilst we appreciate that this could be more difficult for some people, we do this to protect your interests as well as ours. If goods go missing in transit, it increases expenses for us and will eventually have a knock-on effect on our prices. If this is likely to be a problem, you can specify an alternative delivery address at the checkout stage, e.g. delivery to a work address.
We use good quality packaging to ensure that your toys will arrive in perfect condition. We try to re-use any packaging and boxes that our suppliers send us, but do not send out boxes that have "toys" or anything else on that may get inquisitive minds enquiring about the contents !

Where?
Our delivery costs are for all UK mainland addresses. A supplement may apply for deliveries within the Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Isles of Silly & Channel Islands. This does not normally apply, but if it does we will contact you before shipping. Delivery will be quoted separately at the best possible rates for all Overseas orders.

When?
Most orders will normally be despatched within 2 days. We will notify you by e-mail or phone if any item is out of stock or of any problems, but if this only affects a minority of goods, we will usually despatch the rest of the order immediately. If you need your order by a specific date please make a note of this in the "additional info" section at the checkout stage or telephone us.

Costs.
Our delivery costs are as follows:-

  • orders up to £10 - £2.50
  • orders £10.01 to £20 - £3.00
  • orders £20.01 to £80 - £4.50
  • orders above £80 - postage free,standard delivery

 
Next day delivery is available on orders placed before 1p.m. Please telephone us for costs.

International orders - please telephone us or email us for details and costs.


What if my order does not arrive?
If your order has not arrived within 7 days and we have not notified you of any delays, contact us and we will trace the parcel.

 

 

Payment Terms/methods
Orders will only be despatched on payment-in-full of amounts shown. We retain the right to refuse an order if payment is rejected by the card service, or any fraudulent activity is suspected.

We accept payment by card, cheque or Postal order. Cards accepted are Visa, Visa/Debit, Mastercard, Visa/Electron and American Express.  You can also pay with Paypal.

Our payments are processed by Sagepay and the Bank of Scotland.

Privacy Policy
We will protect our customers' privacy and details by only using the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).

  • We will not pass on or sell any information about you or your purchases to any other party.
  • We will not send you unsolicited e-mails.
  • We may send you updates via the post and via e-mail, if you request to be kept updated on new products etc.
  • We do not store your credit card details on our systems.
  • We will not pass your telephone number on to anyone else. We ask for it on the order form so we can contact you should any problems with payment arise.

Security
We take security very seriously at Tickseed. All payments are via Sagepay via an encrypted SSL server. Our servers are protected with the latest firewall technology and anti-hacking detection monitors. We do not exchange any credit card details or other sensitive data as plain text over the Internet, everything is encrypted. We do not see, store or have access to your credit card details. The transaction is between your card supplier and our bank.

Cookies are used on the Tickseed shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details for when you return to the store. However, you do not have to have cookies enabled on your computer in order to shop with us.

Product Suitability and Descriptions
Our toys are to be played with on a daily basis and come marked with the CE recommended age.  All paints are non-toxic.  We use the latest pictures to display our products, but as manufacturers continue to modify and improve their products, they may vary slightly from the image or description. Colours shown are as close to the actual product as possible.
