Giving Gifts~This section is quite different from the others, in that you have the chance to buy a gift for someone else in the shape of a charitable donation. This kind of gift is becoming increasingly popular, and with good reason. Many people for whom we buy gifts, already have all they could want and often a gift is nothing more than a token. By buying a Giving Gift, you are donating to charity, as well as giving the recipient of the gift something very special. We hope that you will find something appropriate.
Please be assured that all the money you donate will go to the charity you specify. However, whilst they will endeavour to use it for its intended purpose, this cannot be guaranteed. Nevertheless, it will be used by that organisation and its end use will be an associated worthy cause.
For each Giving Gift we will supply a suitable card, inside which will be printed the details of the gift, with space for you to add your own greeting.
There are no carriage charges for these items.

They do this through a number of projects (offering residential care, day care and education) for children who were once in prison with their parents, those who have been the victims of child trafficking (in particular, those who have previously been sold to Indian circuses), and disabled children.

Schooling for a Deaf Child~Deafness in Nepal is a complex issue, as disability is often seen as being a punishment for wrongdoing in a previous life. In fact, deafness is frequently caused by preventable, curable, childhood diseases. Those from low income backgrounds are affected most often, because they cannot afford good health care. Consequently, parents of deaf children regard it as a waste of money to pay for their education. Just £25 would send a deaf child to school for a year. The card shows a picture of a child/children (designs may vary) and reads :
Congratulations! You have given a deaf, disadvantaged, Nepalese child the chance to attend school for a year. In Nepal, there is a stigma attached to any disability, which means parents usually regard it as a waste of money to pay for the education of any disabled child, even though deafness is often caused by preventable, treatable, childhood diseases. This gift has been bought in your name through the Esther Benjamins Trust, a charity working in Nepal to help disadvantaged and stigmatised children and young people through a variety of projects.
